In Settings, choose Pair an iPhone. The code works once, for 2 minutes.

Check the six digits.
Your phone and your Mac show the same six digits. If they don't match, don't confirm.

Confirm on the Mac.
Only then can the phone see or answer anything. Lost it? Choose This isn't my phone, and it's cut off.
Your phone talks to your Mac.
Not to us.
No server of ours. On the same Wi-Fi it reaches your Mac right away. Away from it, through your own iCloud Drive.
Each answer is signed. Every answer is signed by that phone, works once, and expires in 5 minutes.
Your Mac checks each answer. It checks the answer is from your phone and for this exact version of the task.
Email never approves. The weekly email is a summary only. Nothing can be approved by email.
