# Agent Task Lock

> Use AI on client work. Keep client files inside your rules.

Agent Task Lock is a Mac app for firms that hold client files. The firm chooses which client files AI may touch. AI works on a copy, and nothing goes in until a person says yes. The firm gets a record it can show a client, an insurer or a regulator. Nothing is sent to the company that makes it.

- What it is: A Mac app for firms that hold client files: accountants and tax preparers, law firms, therapists, bookkeepers and agencies.
- Who uses it: Firm owners set the rules. IT and admins put it on every computer. Staff keep using their AI tools. Reviewers can check what leaves the computer.
- What you do: Mark each client's folder Watch only, Ask me or Strict. Hand AI a job. Say yes or no to what it made.
- What you get: AI works on a copy, so real files stay the same until someone says yes. Files you mark off-limits are turned away. Every step goes on a record.
- Evidence pack: For any period, one folder with what AI did for each client, who said yes, what was stopped and a check that the record wasn't changed.
- AI websites: A browser add-on warns before client files or client text are sent to common AI websites. It is a warning, not a block.
- AI tools: Jobs work with Claude Code and Codex CLI. Gemini CLI and Copilot CLI are watched too.
- Privacy: Runs on the firm's computers. No account, no cloud, no usage tracking in the app. Client data is not sent to the company that makes it.
- Larger firms: Larger firms can run their own console on their own servers to set rules for every computer and keep the record.
- Price: $49 a month or $299 a year for each person, after a 7-day free trial.
- Limits: It does not make a firm compliant with any law. It does not check typed text or tools it doesn't support. Swapping out names can miss some.
